After our preliminary classes and some tests in the afternoon we all sort of argued with each other about NEO and MCR after the morning classes had been cancelled due to a war breaking out. It seems the NEO and MCR talks not only melted down but resulted in a bomb going off at the meet. They say MCR was responsible but we all know they couldn’t afford that kind of operation. Plus they never gave a list of casualties which likely included many MCR officials. We set a date to meet the man who represents the Titan Self Defense Force the next day.
We attended some more classes and a meeting with the representative from Titan today. It was a private meet to see what we could get from Titan. We spoke with the man hoping to learn a bit more about what we could get. Jackson did okay but he keeps drinking. The reason we met with him first was because out of all the faction fighting Titan just wanted to be left alone and would have seen action in defense against others as well as some really cool mechs. Theo and Ellen were okay with whoever we chose. A part of me feels that Ellen would have gladly followed had we picked the bastards at NEO. Theo will be disappointed that we did not pick Titan with their high tech EXO’s.
More classes and possibly some of the greatest amounts of BS I’ve seen to date. We had a meet with all of the representatives. There was a frustrated lesbian by the name of Clara who relied on sex appeal to simply get pilots to speak with her, a man named Vincent who was more pirate than mercenary, though we never talked with him he clearly was the type to live backstabbing others. There was also the MCR representative who came to meet us at our dorms when we scheduled a meeting. He had offers for high rank for certain and assured us meals at the cost of citizens. I don’t like MCR’s position and maybe if we help them out we can secure an ally later on. They seem reluctant to join a war. Of course we spoke with the Omerta Police Department but none of us are cut out for that. Jackson drinks too much, Dison would shoot first and ask questions later, Jimmy might work out best for a while but the strict rules would break him, and my criminal past would only cause problems or limit us in that situation. Plus we all want to be more active in this war and not wait around for crimes to happen or attacks on Omerta. Eventually we met with a NEO representative who left a sour taste in everyone’s mouth. Kyle ignored his bribe of prostitutes out of respect for the females in the squad. I merely asked Theo what a prostitute was doing in my quarters. This was the worst bribe in history or the worst assassination attempt in history. Since I’m not too important I’m going with the bribe. One thing is clear though. Carta Vie will suffer a fate far worse than an arrow to the knee, but my vengeance would require some things…a pineapple, a rope, a burlap sack, an astronaut, a panini grill, an actor and a Nazi costume. I’ve been rehearsing what I’m going to say to that man when it goes down. After sending her away out of rage and asking for a WMD to shove where the sun doesn’t shine against Carta I was calmed down by Jimmy who said the best way to get at the man was to refuse his offer. I bet Theo and Ellen are mad but to think they would follow us if we joined NEO after such blatant disrespect…I hope their loyalty isn’t misplaced. Especially Theo, she just wants to work as a technician, and I have to admit I like the girl. She’s admirable and honest, if a little lacking in confidence when the subject at hand isn’t a robot or something mechanical. Maybe she’ll let me take her out before those fights.
The final weekly event was our finishing the classes and gearing up for a fight. A sort of final in which things are slightly more lethal. I can’t believe Jimmy did the best with small arms. Or that he matched Jackson in Leadership…seems his luck turned around. Either way I’m hoping that this next week isn’t too crazy. We decided to finish school and we join an unknown group led by Kaden. We didn’t really mesh with anyone but Titan and a couple others based on the person but in the end the appeal of poking anyone we wanted in the eye if they step out of line was too tempting. Heroes of the galaxy sounds like a nice retirement if we live. I think Kyle was in for the same reason I was. We can hit anyone and we focus on military installations. I didn’t join the army to shoot peasants with torches and pitchforks while piloting a giant robot.
